For me, communication is key. I like to dig deeper to find out what my clients really want.  This means that I can give them advice and support on the things that really matter to them and their business. I make sure I stay in touch with my clients on a regular basis; not only as it means we build and maintain close relationships, but also because I am then in a position to pre-empt and resolve their issues sooner rather than later. My clients know I am always at the end of the phone. I’m there to help, and nothing is too much trouble.

I often get involved in my clients’ wider business issues. From making sure that their systems and processes are efficient and user friendly to ensuring that their internal and external risks are being properly managed. I help my clients to make key business decisions and I point them in the right direction whenever they need it.

My main focus is on statutory audit and accounts. I like the diversity of working with clients from different backgrounds – from fast moving, profitable businesses to innovative and inspiring not for profit organisations. By adapting my thought processes and approach, I am able to help my clients achieve their goals and be the best they can be.

A bit about my background
I trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002 with an independent accountancy practice in Liverpool.  I have a broad and wide-ranging knowledge of accounts, audit and tax matters, with a total of over 20 years’ experience. I joined SB&P as a Senior Manager in 2008 and joined the partnership team in July 2016.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
My 10 year old self!  I would share all the important knowledge, wisdom and key insights that have taken me so many years to discover. I’d also tell myself to have the self-belief and confidence that you can achieve anything you want to, never let anything hold you back.

If you could have a superpower what would it be?
My fantasy superpower would have to be teleportation. I love to travel…but hate flying. Imagine how fabulous it would be to vanish from your living room and show up the next moment in Bora Bora.

Who inspires you?
J.K. Rowling. Despite the various adversities that she had to overcome to be where she is today, she never lost hope. Her story reminds us all that success is only secondary. The important thing is our attitude towards it. We must always keep our feet firmly on the ground and never forget the people who’ve helped us climb the ladder of success. Above all, believe. Believe in yourself that one day, your hard work will pay off. Believe that you are good enough to get where you want to be.
